Handle Your Business Expenses like a Pro

When you are busy taking care of customers, planning marketing efforts, and ordering inventory or supplies, it can be hard to stay on top of expenses. The last thing you need is to overspend or get lost in the receipts and numbers. If you establish separate accounts from the onset it will help you simplify and track the cost of doing business.

A great way to start is by choosing one credit card or bank card for business and one for your personal expenses. This way you will be able to see what costs are specifically related to your business and have an accurate reflection of how it is running. It also prevents possible accounting errors that can occur when your personal and business expenses are muddled together. As your spending increases, it will get harder and more time consuming to organize them for review. Having all your business related costs in one place will make it easier to check in and make decisions.

A Simple Guide to Your Company's Performance

Does it feel like all you do is spend time trying to stay on top of your monthly costs and have no idea where all the money was spent or maybe you want to try and grow the business; but have no idea how to map it out. A Cash Flow Forecast will let you know how your business is performing and provide you with an in-depth, visual reference to use as you need.

By establishing a Cash Flow sheet you can estimate the amount of money (income) coming in and payments going out, so you can plan accordingly. The goal is to always have enough inbound income to cover your monthly outbound expenses. If you project your sales income (how much you expect to make) and establish a budget for expenses, it will help you stay on track. The best part is that you can reference this as often as you like (its usually done over a 12 month period, but can also be used for a shorter period) and customize it for your business.

Try it out yourself here or contact us and we can help you customize one that works for you.
